Being a curvy girl means technique can be hard to perfect. I cannot even tell you how many times my boobs have gotten in the way. Okay, my belly has gotten in the way too! One morning I attended a workout, where our strength portion focused on hanging cleans. I had been moving right along and not worrying about technique. So when I tried to use the right technique, my bar got stuck under my belly and I dropped the weight on my quads and had pretty nice bruises. Some people might have been embarrassed if this happened to them. For me it was a reminder of why I am there. I am working out for me. To meet my goals.
When I am the last person to finish the workout, I am proud of myself. Some competitive people would definitely disagree with me. And that is perfectly fine. For me getting through a CrossFit WOD or HIIT class, makes me feel like I accomplished something. If I happened to finish a work out before everyone, I also feel proud of myself.
When everyone is running past me and I am just walking, I am proud of myself. Because at the end of the day I got out and I exercised. I completed the workout. And I can barely breath. And as much pain as I may be in, I still come back. Because when something makes you feel proud, you want to continue to experience. But what I love the most about Crossfit WODs and HIIT classes is you get out of it what you put in. If you work hard and really push yourself you will see the benefits of your works. Just remember to do your best, do everything you can.
